Of the week I browsed through the Thick Van Dale, the dictionary of the Dutch language in search of the meaning of a word, when my eye fell on the word "Pulse Heart," or rather the three columns explaining it. On one and a half pages the sixteen meanings, divided into three main groups, are described. A great moment to pay attention to the heart in this blog seems to me. I'm going in on 1. The heart as an organ, 11. The heart as the seat of love and 12. The heart as a seat of desire to maintain the division of the Van Dale.
"The heart (Lat. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
That's one approach. What strikes me are the words "hole," "comparative" and "flammatory" movements. As the seat of love, I will not call the heart hollow, but the word connection and the word movement does evoke all kinds of associations to me. The heart is often filled with feelings, or emotions when they are stronger, it seems. Biologically, it's a physiological reaction in the brain. In my opinion, the word connection leads to the idea of relationship, something to which we have the skills that we can also attribute to the heart. I'll come back to that later. The heart is always moving, we call that desire (meaning 12).
In "Godhead" Joe Griffin and Ivan Tyrrell write that they believe the heart works according to pattern matching. According to them, love, I'm talking about now, is the result of unconditional acceptance of pattern-matching. When you truly love someone you do so unconditionally, with all your heart, you accept the other as he or she is. At least that's how it works for me. You may irritate you occasionally (in essence desire), but you look at all possible connections you have with that person from the point of view that you know the limits of that love. You see when it's good, the similarities are clearer than the contradictions. When you go through the theory of pattern-matching, this means that the ultimate love is the pattern-matching, the "I'm" standing, being aware of the universe. It is open to the wealth of the universe, the total pattern or the universe. "I was a hidden treasure, and wanted to be known, so I created a creation, made Known to me to them, and she recognized Me." As the idea of God is described here and there. I'm a self-conscious person when and there is no pattern-matching, in "Godhead." It is created by uncertainty, for example when your love is not seen or accepted by the other. Something you thought would happen doesn't happen, the desire isn't fulfilled. This may cause prolonged discomfort or sudden emotional crisis.
In short, this modest blog shows that the heart and the effect we attribute to it are almost as wonderful as the functioning of our brains.
